Our Radio Sommerfest is about to have its 5 year anniversary.
This year’s lineup is meant to showcase more of our beloved non-local show hosts. We have DJs and performers visiting from Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg, Nuremberg and even Lissabon to present a programme as multifaceted as our radio shows have become over the last 7 years. This also represents an opportunity for our local community to finally meet and get to know some of our non-local hosts in the flesh, one of the main things that make our project so fun and special.
The Sommerfest is going to take place in our new studio location ZIRKA located at Dachauerstr. 110c. Until 10pm of each day we will have the pleasure to play on the Moonbase Soundsystem outside in the courtyard. On Friday, the event is going to continue inside the front warehouses of ZIRKA until 4am.
The music on Friday will be focused on electronic (dance) sounds including a live performance by Portuguese artist Silvestre. Saturday will offer a variety of genres and styles including Ambient, Dub/Reggae, New Wave and Synth-pop, two live performances by Mira Mann & Lovechild and a musically diverse finale by Nelson Brandt (aka Nepomuk).
Our preparations are in full swing and our anticipation is increasing every day – the traditional Radio 80000 Sommerfest in our new home ZIRKA is close and we look forward to two days of varied music programming, exchanging with people and an opportunity to spend time together outside the world of online streaming.
Our Sommerfest is supposed to be fun for everyone. As such we ask every guest to be friendly and respectful to each other. Everyone should feel accepted and comfortable in our space, irregardless of gender, origin, sexuality, skin color, age, religion or ethnic background. We (Radio 80000) don’t tolerate any form of discrimination, racism, anti-semitism, sexism, violence, ableism and/or ageism. Hate symbols are also not tolerated. Any form of breaching these rules will be met with a zero tolerance policy.
A team of security workers and a separate awareness team will be on site to make sure everyone is as comfortable and safe as possible.
The event is free entry. We operate as a non-profit organization so any donations made at the entrance are much appreciated. Hosting this year’s Sommerfest with a nation-wide (and in one case even international) programme was made possible through funding given to non-commercial events by the Kulturreferat of the city of Munich. We thank them for their support!
